Areas of expertise I am currently an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Bristol and a Research Scholar at the University of Louisville (USA). Previously, I worked on behavioural ecology, cognition and vocal communication of common marmosets, Callithrix jacchus, in the Atlantic Rain Forests of Brazil. As part of my PhD at Bristol University, I have worked on behaviour and bioacoustics of the rare and elusive golden-backed uakaris, Cacajao melanocephalus, in the Brazilian Amazon forest. I am currently working on an exciting research/conservation project on the Critically Endangered Blond capuchin monkeys, Cebus flavius. The species was thought to be extinct until 2006 and the estimated population is 180 individuals. This rare and threatened species lives in fragments of Atlantic Rain Forest in the Northeast of Brazil.
