Wills Memorial Building tours
This historic city landmark is home to both teaching and public events.
You can book a guided tour and learn about the building’s history, and experience views across Bristol from the top of the Wills Tower.
Visit our gardens
The University gardens are for staff, students and the public to experience and enjoy, as well as for academic study.
Botanic Gardens
Visit the University Botanic Garden in Stoke Bishop to explore our unique plant collection and glasshouses, designed to tell the story of plant evolution. Buy a ticket or book onto one of our informative curator’s tours.
Royal Fort Gardens
Wander in and enjoy art installations in this tranquil, award-winning garden, open to staff, students and the public.
Historic Gardens Tours at Goldney Garden
Attend a guided tour of Goldney Garden and learn about the history of this beautiful garden. Goldney Garden also hosts public events through the year.
See public art
You can take part in and enjoy the many public artworks and installations that our artists, staff and students have collaborated on. You can explore our permanent sculptures, visit temporary installations or take part in participatory programmes.

Cabot art exhibitions

The University has a large number of buildings across the city. Hire venues and facilities for a range of events and purposes.
Libraries and collections
We have a variety of libraries, collections and reading rooms open for public access.
- The Arts and Social Science Library is open to anyone over 16 years old.
- The Little Library at our Barton Hill micro-campus based in the Wellspring Settlement is a free library service. You can get a cup of tea and use the library service to borrow and return books.
- Book an appointment to visit our Special Collections, a curated archive of printed books and journals, archival resources and artefacts.
- Research using one of the world’s largest archives of British theatre history at the Theatre Collection, and see the ongoing exhibitions held there.
- You can explore our virtual museum, The Uncertain Space, and experience artefacts from our different collections. You can use a Virtual Reality headset to experience the virtual museum at our Theatre Collection Reading Room.
- Visit the EarthArt gallery, book an appointment to access unique minerals, fossils, rocks and maps in our Earth Sciences collection, and find out more about our current projects.
